This service-learning manual was produced by the Florida Service, Preparedness, and Response Coalition (SPaRC). SPaRC staff developed this resource to assist students, teachers, faculty, administrators, and community partners in engaging youth in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, and school and community safety. Included is a DVD that highlights student and teacher perspectives from a number of SPARC projects throughout Florida. This is the second edition, the first edition was published in 2006.
