Abstract:
This paper presents the assessment of a curriculum designed to help alternative students completing an environmental community service project to better understand their contribution to society and to the environment. We demonstrate how to reframe a community service project into a service-learning project, present the richness of content and attitudinal learning this brings to participants and inform the issue of assessing student learning in an informal setting.
