Abstract:
A curriculum guide for community based organizations to prepare for Global Youth Service Day and to get started on service-learning. Framed within a service-learning model, this curriculum offers tools for youths, teachers and facilitators to teach the basics of project management as applied to community service. This guide is organized in eight lesson plans designed around the project planning task to be accomplished at that stage. They are written so that they can be used by either youth or adult facilitators. Each lesson lists learning objectives, materials needed, directions, and reflection activities, as well as suggestions to adapt the lesson for younger children.
