Abstract:

This is the thirty-eighth report of national normative data on the characteristics of students attending American colleges and universities as first-time, full-time freshmen. This series, initiated in Fall 1966, is a project of the Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP), a continuing longitudinal study of the American higher education system sponsored by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. A recent report published by the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA provides a summary of the data generated by the first thirty-five CIRP freshman surveys. (authors)
