Abstract:
The Education Commission of the States recently updated a 50-state review of state policies that encourage student involvement in decision-making and policymaking. While many institutions of higher education, districts and schools have similar policies, this review was limited to identifying those opportunities codified at the state level in state statute and administrative code. This paper explores and discusses student participation in local and state governments.
