Abstract:

The Consortium for the Advancement of Private Higher Education (CAPHE) administered the Engaging Communities and Campuses grant program, in which thirteen private colleges and universities developed campus-wide initiatives to prepare students for a lifetime of contributions to society. A series of focus group interviews were held with nineteen of the community leaders involved in partnerships with the thirteen colleges and universities. The summit sought to capture community participants’ perspectives regarding their partnership work with higher education. Through a series of focused discussions and small group activities, the community leaders were asked a series of questions designed to investigate their perspectives on what it takes to develop successful and effective campus/community partnerships. This monograph presents the findings from this investigation.

A brochure was written to accompany this monograph: Building Partnerships with College Campuses: Community Perspectives (Brochure)
