AmeriCorps NCCC Team Leader Toolkit: Resources for Managing and Supervising Teams

This toolkit is a resource for the lessons in leadership that are encountered during team leader experience. It is meant to be practical and challenging.

The toolkit is designed to back up the other resources provided to community leaders. The pocket guides included within will give readers more detailed and on-the-spot guidance. The toolkit is organized around five areas-- four leadership competencies and the project areas-- that will be required of AmeriCorps*NCCC leaders throughout their year of service.
1) Leader as Coach and Mentor will help readers develop their own self-awareness as a role model and their ability to teach others how to become leaders also.
2) Leaders as Team Captain explains team dynamics and gives readers resources to help their teams function at their best.
3) Leader as Project Manager supplements the specific information readers will get from their campuses with process questions to use with teams for each phase of managing projects.
4) Leader as Trail Boss is designed to help readers deal with the challenges of assignments away from the campus while they're out on their own.
5) Project Areas provides information and ideas to prepare teams for the specific types of projects they will be assigned.
