The Service-Learning Supplement, a resource of YSA and F.I.L.M., is devoted to highlighting the educational aspects of planning and managing service projects with and by youth. As a project management tool, the goal of this guide is to provide project planners with a structured framework to support the design, preparation, and implementation of their service project. Each lesson plan addresses a specific step in the planning process, and focuses on particular skills to acquire in the development of each stage. The lesson plans are written so that they can be used by either youth or adult facilitators. Each lesson lists measurable outcomes, materials needed, notes for the facilitator, as well as suggestions to adapt the lessons for younger youth. The Appendices offer additional tools such as service-learning project ideas according to the different themes of the F.I.L.M. programs.
