Abstract:
This paper translates service-learning's research-based evidence for education leaders by identifying practices and policies in alignment with the data that shows what works. This paper also provides a research-based service-learning framework encompassing the simultaneous renewal of five critical components shown to institutionalize and maximize service-learning effectiveness: vision and leadership, curriculum and assessment, community-school partnerships, professional development and continuous improvement.
