Abstract:
In this chapter, the authors argue that the work done by San Diego State University (SDSU) undergraduates with the Young Women's Studies Club at Hoover High School in San Diego exemplifies a successful community-based service-learning program by implementing experiential approaches to teaching and foregrounding women's studies. This approach differs significantly from the traditional university or high school classroom and is most beneficial for multicultural students. (authors)
