Abstract:

This chapter offers two models that focus on the critical need for reflection. The first model is the Irish Educationalist and Open Spaces for Dialogue and Enquiry (OSDE) model. The second is English Pre-Service Teachers and Internationalization. Both take a service-learning component, reflection, and use critical reflexivity to create models that can be used for international comparison. This represents and innovative approach. In the next 10 years, we expect common terms will be adopted by international associations and that these associations will also call for the essential components of service-learning in all contexts to be identified and used.
