Abstract:

In this chapter, the authors offer principles and best practices for service-eLearning as an integrated pedagogy after a brief review of foundational work. Their purpose is to aid in the design of service-eLearning experiences to prepare students for what Laurie N. DiPadova-Stocks describes as an increasingly "unscripted" future. They wish to underscore, however, that these best practices signify only the first steps toward defining and envisioning a pedagogy of service-eLearning. As more practitioners share their experiences and insights about the integration of eLearning and service-learning pedagogies, these best practices must be tested, revised, and expanded.
