Abstract:
This presentation provides an overview of the reasoning behind and best practices for service-learning. Descriptions of community-based service-learning, civic responsibilities and skills, and the importance of reflection throughout service-learning projects are provided. A graphic overview is presented, and the value of student-led and -centered planning is emphasized. Tips for implementation and recognition, as well as model programs are shared.
