Abstract:
This article discusses service-learning's role as a meaningful way for students to contribute to their own education. Service-learning, the author argues, lends relevance to an educational process that can seem disconnected from students' lives. Examples of service-learning projects and their impacts on students are discussed, as are principles and methodology of service-learning.
