Abstract:
The development of youth community service self-efficacy is important for increasing youth participation in civic engagement. Youth who have a strong sense of community service self-efficacy believe in their abilities to take appropriate action in serving the needs of their communities. The results of this study demonstrate that short-term twoweek Summer of Service camps for middle school-aged youth can provide youth with the experiences necessary to develop community service self-efficacy.
