Abstract:

This article describes a first time experience with service-learning for four third grade teachers. They discuss the challenges and successes of trying to put theory into practice by implementing some of the basic principles of service-learning with their students. They conclude that the only way to learn to do service-learning is to do it and reflect on the process as it develops. (authors)
