Abstract:
Service-learning in a distance delivery course can provide excellent possibilities for engagement, yet requires careful planning to deal with logistic challenges. The purpose of this handbook is to assist faculty in planning and executing a service-learning project in their distance course that is both academically meaningful to the faculty and students, as well as addressing a need identified by a community partner. This handbook includes some introductory information about distance learning, forms that may be used for service-learning, and a listing of other resources for implementation.
