Abstract:
In its richest form, service-learning policy provides resources for programs to develop and expand; improves program sustainability; stimulates resource support from other sources; and lends credibility and legitimacy to service-learning programs. Nearly three-quarters of the states have some form of state policy addressing service-learning. Those policies, however, are as varied as the states themselves. (pages 59-60)
