Abstract:
This chapter focuses on how College of Saint Mary (CSM) faculty in the occupational therapy department planned and implemented a service-learning health promotion program. This course and program originated in the community and involved a partnership between four community organizations and the Department of Occupational Therapy as a means of providing needed services with the community and providing occupational therapy students with experiential educational and community training activities. Appendix A provides the syllabus, forms, and specific course topics. Appendix B contains the CSM and CSM Occupational Therapy Program mission statements. [authors]
