Abstract:
Through their participation in the Trenton Youth Community-Based Research Corps at the College of New Jersey, undergraduate students learn to be partners, citizens, and public scholars. The students internalize a civic identity, recognizing both that they are part of social systems and dynamics of power and privilege, and that they can be agents of social change. And they learn that research can be a tool for strengthening community agencies and for prompting social change.
