Pondering Pedagogical Possibilities: Physical Education and the Activation of Critical Service-Learning

This chapter's objectives are to differentiate critical service-learning from other types of service-learning models; introduce a version of service-learning that addresses social justice issues (critical service-learning); link the value of critical service-learning to larger pedagogical outcomes; and outline a flexible four-step framework for critical service-learning that can be utilized by physical education professionals.
