Abstract:
This DVD was made by two AmeriCorps VISTAs who wanted to demonstrate service-learning in their community. The film discusses the difference between service-learning and volunteering, and how service-learning extends learning beyond the classroom, addresses community needs, and makes partnerships. Footage includes many examples of real-life projects, like First Book and Master Gardeners', and the participants give advice for successful projects, reflection, impact, student experience, evaluation, and more.
