Abstract:
Using the history of service-learning to ground the article, the author defines service-learning, explores current challenges schools have integrating it within the school day, discusses the need and rationale for creating the eight service-learning standards, and looks to the future with hope as it becomes increasingly apparent that service-learning matters.
