Abstract:
The Hispanic Achievers Program in Nashville, Tennessee, was created through a partnership between the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and Belmont University. The overriding goal is to promote professionalism and higher education among Hispanic youth. This is a program that could be adopted by other universities in cooperation with their community partners in order to provide on-campus service-learning opportunities and foster the recruitment and retention of Hispanic college students.
