Abstract:
The author presents the defining features of critical service-learning that framed the course and how these principles were enacted within the various projects. Next, he presents key themes that illustrate the challenges these teachers faced and the various strategies used to navigate through them. Finally, he closes with a discussion on how these processes of navigation and negotiation hold promise for transforming educational spaces to promote social justice education through critical service-learning.
