Abstract:
This study describes preliminary findings of a national project focused on service learning. Can a semester-long service learning experience have an impact on the development of college students as participating citizens of their community? The study examined personal values, social learning and cognitive change as possible outcomes. Specifically, does service have an impact on students' skills, attitudes, values and understanding?
