Abstract:
The Agatston Urban Nutrition Initiative draws on the resources of a premier research university and the community to address the problem of obesity in children and youth. It takes a problem-solving approach to learning, in which university and community students work jointly in a curriculum that integrates in-class and service-learning to focus on problems that afflict society – in this case, obesity.
