Abstract: 

Articles include an update on translating the Principles of Effective Practice for K-12 Service-Learning into national standards, a research summary on how reflection facilitates high-quality learning for students, and a description of a method young children can use to select service-learning projects. Also included are questions practitioners can ask to promote high-quality reflection, challenging students to think deeply about their experiences, and a list of ideas for reflection activities.
