In the globalized twenty-first century, internationalization through global learning has become one of the most important priorities for many universities in the United States. In 2002, with the leadership from its past president, Park University identified internationalization as one of its main goals. As such, part of the mission statement of Park University was to prepare students to "engage in lifelong learning while serving a global community." To achieve this mission, Park University has developed several strategies in international education, including service-learning projects infused in the curriculum. The Department of Information and Computer Science was one of the first departments at Park University leading the way for service-learning projects. This chapter describes the computer literacy service-learning project performed in Brazil.
