From the Corporation for National and Community Service: describes school-based service-learning and other programs centered around prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in disasters such as floods, fires, and chemical spills. - Prepare Today -- Lead Tomorrow Teen Toolkit (CBO, K-12)
This toolkit was created to support teen community preparedness service-learning experiences. It provides background information on community preparedness and service-learning and takes teens through the entire process of designing a service-learning project, assessment, and reflection. It also includes over a dozen worksheets and several project ideas. - Disaster Relief and Preparedness through Service-Learning (CBO, K-12)
Youth Service America (YSA) developed this module on disaster preparedness and relief through service-learning to complement the National & Global Youth Service Day Service-Learning Curriculum Guide, a resource for helping youth develop project management skills. In addition to providing information about service-learning basics, this guide provides resources and service-learning project ideas on the topic of disaster and emergency preparedness. - Incorporating Service-Learning in Emergency Management (HE)
