This document describes how the Corporation for National and
Community Service (the Corporation) and the National
Service-Learning Clearinghouse (NSLC) will handle information that
we learn about you from your visit to the NSLC website. The
information we receive depends on what you do when visiting the
site. It can be categorized as anonymous information (which
cannot be tied back to you as an individual) or personally
identifiable information (which tells us specifically who you
are, e.g., your name, phone number, e-mail or postal address). |

Browse: If you browse through the NSLC website, we
collect and store only the following anonymous information: (1) the
name of the domain from which you access the Internet; (2) the date
and time you access our site; and (3) the Internet address of the
website from which you linked directly to our site. |

Send us an E-mail: If you send us an e-mail to request
further information or ask for assistance, we collect your e-mail
address (personally identifiable information) and the domain and
Internet address from which the e-mail was sent (anonymous
information). Your e-mail address is not shared with any outside
parties. |

Site Management: The NSLC website uses software programs
to create summary statistics based on anonymous information. This
information is used for site management and allows us to assess
areas of most and least interest, determine technical design
specifications, and identify system performance or problem areas.
We use this information to make the site more useful to visitors.
This information does not contain personal identifiers and is used
only for internal management purposes. Any information that we
collect may be subject to disclosure, but will be handled in
accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act and the Freedom
of Information Act to ensure the greatest protection of personal
privacy in the face of any required disclosure. Except as might be
required by law, we do not share any information we receive with
any outside parties. |
