The 4 Rs

A rhyming chant about the Four R's (Reduce Reuse Recycle Rot) created by teachers was used as part of the reading program. The kindergarten students were very excited about the chant and wanted to share it with others. As an educational service to educate the community about ways to reduce the items going into the landfill, the students recited the Four R's chant at the annual school fair. Students also recited the chant to their families. During these lessons the students focused on: 1) reducing waste going into the landfill, 2) learning about Cesar Chavez and several of his values, 3) rhyming, 4) reciting the chant for the school community.
