Description:
This semester long project begins with 10th grade Health students learning about the basics of cancer, then after looking at their family medical history students are "diagnosed" with a specific type of cancer. Students research their type of cancer using a variety of research methods and resources and prepare a final oral/visual presentation to a panel of medical professionals. At the conclusion the class makes "goodie" bags for kids with cancer and we take a trip to UCSF to see cancer research happening first hand.
