Description:
CHAtS has a dual purpose: (1) to help adults in an existing stroke support group increase and/or maintain their speech, language, and cognitive skills in a facilitative non-threatening environment; and (2) to provide hands-on instruction to graduate students in speech-language pathology about group intervention models, teamwork in health care, and functional/social language intervention with emphasis on life participation, as well as fostering an appreciation for service to others within the context of a helping profession.
