Description:
A teen group based in an area church chose fire safety as their service-learning topic. A local Fire Marshall trained the teens on fire safety. The teen members presented the fire preparedness information to their church congregation. One TIA member's family home caught fire and he was able to rescue his family members as a result of his training. He received a fire safety preparedness certificate from the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Chief for his heroic efforts.
