Fire Safety for Young Children

One teen group focused their project on fire safety for kindergarten through second grade youth. The Fire Department and the emergency response team (CERT) presented fire safety and disaster preparedness to the group to help them become more informed about the issue. The group presented the American Red Cross Sesame Street Fire Safety Puppet Show to their young audiences at several Camp Fire USA after-school programs in Title I schools. The teens also distributed fire safety information including fire safety bingo, a fire escape activity, a fire safety flier and coloring book so the children could talk to their families about fire safety in their homes.
