Description:
Students chose and explored the issue of global warming in order to better understand its causes and possible solutions. The class heard speakers and visited sites to learn from experts. Students surveyed other students in school to assess knowledge about this issue, and then graphed results. They participated in projects to educate the community and also developed a Web site. In addition they created pledge cards to encourage others to change their habits in ways that lower the emission of greenhouse gasses. The class organized recycling for the school and also contacted companies about limiting mailings that waste paper.
