Description:
A kindergarten class (18 students) cooks a bi-monthly meal for the local senior center. The meals cooked are based on the students' study of the continents, lessons from the district adopted science textbook, study and observation of local gardens and their yields, and input form local restaurateurs. This project addresses many content standards within social studies, science, and language arts. Students worked on the project during individual, small group and large group times.
