Food Fundamentals brings together information in food science, food safety, food economics and nutrition in the classroom. The laboratory experience includes cooking techniques, preparation of a wide variety of foods, food selection and evaluation. For most students, this course serves as the basis for the knowledge and skills upon which they will build as they take more advanced courses. For all students, this course serves as a life enhancing course. The concept of service-learning allows you to apply the things that you learn in the class and lab to real-life problem solving for the people who use the food bank.
