Description:
Students will research the impact of American military involvement on both the lives of the service person and his/her family. Using what they have learned, students will understand the impact of the service person’s sacrifices on both the individual and his or her family. Students will create projects to honor and assist military personnel.
Given the many options and the flexibility built into this service-learning project, it is hoped there will be few problems identifying appropriate service-learning opportunities within this framework for students receiving special education services, similar to their nondisabled peers.
