Description:
Professional Practice in Urban Schools and Communities is an interdisciplinary seminar for undergraduate/graduate students designed to prepare professionals to work collaboratively by engaging you in a critical analysis of contemporary issues using a variety of philosophical approaches and practice examples. No one professional can know enough to meet or anticipate all the needs of children, families, or he/ she faces. Professional practitioners, at all levels, are realizing that the demographic changes in our society are requiring people who have expertise and the ability to work together in creative, innovative ways. This course includes a service-learning component.
