Description:
During the 06-07 school year, this group of students received a service-learning mini-grant to turn a bleak area outside the school into a representation of MN Biomes (they named it Mini-Minnesota.) The intent of the project was to provide students and teachers with an outdoor space for learning. During the year students were disappointed to learn that classrooms were not using this space. The students realized that amongst the trees there was no place to sit! In order to make the space more conducive to classroom learning, they partnered with a home improvement company and built benches for this outdoor space, Mini- Minnesota.
