School-wide effort to support the Sanctuary of Hope, a private orphanage in Nirobi, Kenya.
Students in a jewelry making class designed and made African inspired jewelry including necklaces, earrings, and bracelets which they displayed on homemade cards and sold for the benefit of the Sanctuary of Hope. Also, students in the ceramics classes designed flower pots, vases, and miscellaneous articles which were formed, glazed and fired. Students planted flowers in the pots that were sold for the benefit of the orphanage. The entire school has taken up this cause with proceeds coming from clubs, Prom, and other student organizations. Two community members, Debbie and Brian Lee, were instrumental in our ability to work with this orphanage.
