Description:
A middle school service-learning group worked on designing comfort kits for each school classroom to have following an emergency. The students worked with the school district department of emergency and safety to design the kits. The list they created has become the standardized list for the school district. The list includes supplies for an entire school building that addresses basic needs such as medical care, food, and water. The kits the youth created also focus on comforting the students. The kits include snacks, crackers, candy, playing cards, Madlibs, and magazines.
