Description:
A 2nd Grade Special Day Class teacher at John Swett School wished to develop a Thanksgiving season project that assists students in recognizing what they have to be thankful for and offer an opportunity for service to others. They decided to collaborate on a project that provides mainstream opportunities for Special Day Class/Severely Handicapped students with regular education peers, enables students to develop understanding and empathy for homeless people, and integrates learning and community service with the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday.
