Description:
One project engaged cadets from the local Junior ROTC program at a high school. The cadets chose to become certified in CPR and First Aid in order to teach area elementary students the Basic Aid Training program offered by the American Red Cross. The cadets felt this training would improve their own lives as well as help prepare children for an emergency. The cadets taught the BAT program in a classroom setting with little to no intervention from adults. The cadets and younger students loved the program and felt like they were doing something positive.
