Description:
When students are comparing the U.S. systems of government and economics to other systems they will learn about countries where extreme poverty exists and children are unable receive an education or basic medical care. After researching the conditions in these countries, the students will create a school-wide campaign to collect money as part of UNICEF's annual "Treat or Treat for UNICEF" fund raiser. The students will create posters and flyers that explain the situation in underdeveloped nations and the work UNICEF does in these countries. They will do presentations in other classes, and distribute "Treat or Treat" boxes.
