One group of teen service-learning participants researched and developed an informational brochure highlighting Water Safety Issues for swimmers and boat owners. They live in a lake community. The teens gathered and distributed information to lakefront businesses and homeowners including information about soil erosion and how to help protect the lake waters. They educated families and businesses by distributing "Waterway Watch" a publication from the U.S Dept. of Homeland Security. This valuable educational information on safety and security was also distributed through Title 1 classroom presentations, a business luncheon presentation, community booths, the annual chamber boat show and through lakefront businesses.
