After researching the impact of the down turn of the economy on their county, students used geocoaching and tourism to learn more about their community's diverse places of interest. The goal of the project was to increase awareness of tourism possibilities and historical places in Henry County. Gifted students in grades K-8 used skills related to longitude and latitude, creative and journal writing, group dynamics, research skills and technology, photography, spatial and visual perception. At the conclusion of the project, students compiled their findings into a power point and created visual displays to inform community members and stakeholders about the history and resources in Henry County.
