The Pads Packers major goal was to help the homeless. We achieved that goal by packing 40 sandwiches and lunches for the homeless people. We then delivered the sandwiches and lunch bags to PADs. We wanted to make a change and help people less fortunate than us. To raise the money to pay for this all, we charged $3 per lunch bag, and we donated the extra money to PADs.
To spread the message around our school, we had morning meeting announcements, and posters around school explaining our project. On a G day, Friday our seminar class went to Hutch and made the sandwiches, then we filled the lunch bags with chips, fruit, juice, and Jello. And after that we took the box lunches bags to Great Lakes Naval Base. There were big blue buses outside that transported the homeless people to and from Great Lakes Naval Base. When we got inside we saw several small rooms. Some rooms had a computer that helped them find jobs. There was a T.V. room, and a meeting room for conferences. The Lunches were put in a small kitchen in the back where they were stored and we were told they primarily use them to distribute for the bus, or for family members of the people who were part of the program.
